DESCRIPTION
This key sales role of Public Sector Account Manager is to identify opportunities to generate funded business from our clients partners Public Sector business & their end-user relationships; to work effectively on those opportunities from inception to conclusion, resulting in the achievement of targeted origination volumes & gross margin on a monthly, quarterly & annual basis.
Critical success factors for the successful execution of this role include the ability to work proactively & entirely on your own initiative, with minimal supervision & assistance; & to interact inclusively & collaboratively with all relevant contacts across their partners Public Sector community, including their customers, as well as with colleagues & senior management to achieve the targets set.
You will be expected to conduct your own research into each opportunity and work on all the different aspects required from various sources (including the vendor, their customer, and any OEM or channel partner involved in a deal) to convert those opportunities into a successfully closed & funded transaction.
Each transaction will need to be initially assessed in terms of credit, contract, structure & commercials; once it meets current business guidelines on those parameters, it will then be submitted in the form of a structured proposal into Operations for review & decisioning.
Some opportunities are transacted simply & easily on standard pre-approved documents with straightforward credits & matrix pricing; others are highly complex, bespoke contractual terms with challenging credits, unusual structures & specific pricing. Many are transacted under specific frameworks, so a strong working knowledge of those is essential.
Proactive & accurate forecasting & reporting is another key output required of this role. Effective time management and prioritization of key tasks is also expected at all times.
Candidate Profile
Our ideal location for this role are Midlands based applicants but those based in the Thames Valley , London & South East or as far west as Bristol and who are able and willing to travel nationally are encouraged to apply.
Experience of Public Sector specific frameworks and operating processes / procedures is essential.
There are several key skills required in this role, including a proven ability to:
- generate opportunities from our clients partners Public Sector team
- convert those opportunities into closed (won) transactions to achieve targets.
- understand the key elements of each deal (credit, contract, structure, pricing) and structure an appropriate commercial proposal & contractual solution to secure it.
- accurate & timely forecasting of expected business each month & quarter.
- effective, real-time pipeline management in business CRM tool (Salesforce).
You will be able to demonstrate a desire to take full responsibility for your own actions & for achieving their targets & objectives, as well as contributing to the overall team dynamics.
You will be very proactive, irrespective of the deal / task at hand. You will interact effectively across all external partners (vendors & customers) and with colleagues in all internal functions.
You will be able to take a variety of inputs & convert them into holistic, thoughtfully considered proposals to win targeted business.

JOB PACKAGE
Salary range up to £69,000 OTE £130,000 + plus car allowance and benefits
