Our client a leading financier for whom we have sourced over 50 staff since 2000 are seeking to develop a strategic presence in the rooftop solar sector for the financing of transactions from £250,000 to £5m.
Our client are expecting to offer solutions ranging from simple HP and sale and HP back through to power purchase agreement solutions and energy procurement solutions.
Their route to market will be via a strategic partner. They are now seeking to hire two business development managers to develop their presence in the North of the UK and in the South of the UK.
Your role will be one of engaging closely with their partner to embed their range of financing solutions into their sales proposition and to move use of finance to that of strategic rather than tactical and the structuring and closing of deals operating at C with the customers of their partner.

To apply for either of these roles you must have a minimum of 5 years but preferably 10 years of senior sales experience of the finance and leasing sector and of the £250,000 to £5m deal sizes that our client are focussed on.
We are seeking applications from those who have a demonstrable record of success in working with and through partners, by this we mean major dealers , distributors , OEM’s etc.
Importantly , and recognising that the ESG space is a developing one they are not necessarily seeking applications only from those with a renewables asset class background.
Therefore , if you have a record of growing finance penetration via third parties and can demonstrate success engaging across multiple stakeholders of sales, sales leaders, marketing , finance and of closing deals with end user customers , we would be interested in talking to you.
We will look on applications from those whose asset class experience is where current use of finance is tactical and therefore success in growing engagement is much harder won most favourably.
We say this as the ability to evangelise and build engagement in the rooftop solar sector is we believe going to be harder than market sectors where use of finance as a sales tool EG digital print ( copiers ), commercial vehicles , materials handling is a much more established route of acquisition.
Whatever your asset class sector experience you will need deep commercial awareness, good credit skills , plus the intellectual ability to understand and sell a variety of finance solutions and the confidence and ability to sit in front of a CFO and structure and close a deal that may be up to £5m in size.
