DESCRIPTION
Our client a long stablished and highly successful asset financier are seeking a Head of Legal to be responsible for all legal work related to their UK and Ireland business unit.
This is a hands on role with no staff reports but one where you will report into the Managing Director of our clients UK and Ireland business unit and have a dotted line into our clients global Head of Legal.
You will be involved in negotiation and drafting of financing documentation with customers operating in the private and public sectors, contracts with partner introducers and our clients funding arrangements with other financial institutions.
Flexibility exits on your location as our client expects this position to work from home as they have very sophisticated remote access.
Ideally they are seeking an individual who is full time but they are happy to consider applications from those who are seeking to work part time.
If part time it would be much preferred that the successful individual can work either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons weekly rather than say 3 full days. This is to ensure that requests for legal assistance can be met with the minimum of delay
Candidate Profile
To apply you must be a fully qualified lawyer and you must also have experience of working in or with the finance and leasing sector.
This finance and leasing sector experience may have been gained working as an in house lawyer with a leading funder , be that a captive , bank owned funder or an independent , a major lease brokerage or a boutique arranger or consultancy to the asset finance and leasing sector.
Alternatively you may be working for a law firm and have a focus on working with the asset finance and leasing sector and be seeking to get closer to where business is actually being transacted.
Whatever your background you must have a broad understanding of leasing documentation, managed services agreements, receivables funding etc.
You must also have the confidence and customer facing skills that could see you one day negotiating terms with the senior legal team of a FTSE 100 company or HMRC on a £10m deal and the next day discussing an assignment of receivable structure or a managed services proposal with a board Director of a supply side partner or the senior legal staff at a major financial institution.
JOB PACKAGE
Salary up to £80,000 plus car allowance and bonus plus additional benefits.
