Role Overview
Our client an industry leading international lessor are seeking to hire an additional Senior Business Development Manager Clean Tech to join their Specialist Finance Channel
The Clean Tech Finance team provides Asset Finance and Structured Asset Finance solutions to a broad range of end customer segments and technologies across the UK.
You will be responsible for leading the identification and winning of new name solutions partners across a range of different technologies.
The role will suit a highly experienced business developer capable of proactively driving new business, structuring full, limited and non-recourse funding arrangements,
Your role will also encompass preparing Credit applications, working closely with colleagues in Credit, Asset Management and Legal to ensure transactions are reviewed and documented appropriately
To succeed in the role you must have well developed excel skills to stress test and sensitise financial models.
You will build long term relationships with customers and industry partners and engage with colleagues across the business in a true deal team approach to ensure that transactions are booked correctly on internal systems and that those administering agreements ‘in-life’ have all the necessary support and information.
Key responsibilities
Generate and deliver new business opportunities across a range of clean technologies to meet budget requirements
Identify and contact decision-makers to generate new leads
Develop a robust sales pipeline with short, medium and long-term opportunities in-line with individual and team targets
Meet prospects, customers and project partners to pitch for, negotiate and win opportunities that fit with the company’s strategy
Manage opportunities from lead qualification through to final activation and into contract management, delivered in-line with the channel pricing strategy
Take ownership of the proposal process working across all stakeholder groups
Prepare in depth Credit Papers to detail specific opportunities with regards to; obligors, assets, transaction structures, documentation, risks and mitigants and proposed conditions of sanction and identify risks that require in life monitoring actions
Lead commercial negotiations between prospects, customers, manufacturers, legal counsel, insurance and technical advisors and intermediaries
Project manage the satisfaction of conditions precedent, execution of documentation and pay-out mechanics
Work with internal contract management system, pricing tool, CRM and other workflow management programmes
Support Channel lead to refine the value proposition and channel strategy with real time primary market intelligence
Share with the business professional knowledge gained as a result of attendance at tradeshows, networking events and customer presentations
Candidate Profile
To be considered for the position you must possess the following experience and skills
Significant business development experience working with full, limited and non-recourse asset finance products
A successful and demonstrable business development record
An In-depth understanding of funding mechanics for clean technologies including but not limited to; roof and ground mounted solar PV, on-shore wind, combined heat and power plants, waste to energy, energy saving technologies e.g. LED lighting, recycling and EV charging infrastructure
A detailed understanding of the necessary security and documentation to structure purchase of receivables transactions
Broad experience developing models to evidence debt serviceability
Confidence with data management, pricing, forecasting and budgeting
A highly commercial and entrepreneurial mindset with ability to tailor approach based on different audiences
Excellent presentation skills and able to present complex structures and arguments in a simple, concise and easily understood manor both in written formats and verbally
Excellent upper quartile salary range + on target earnings of 30% of salary plus company car and all usual large company benefits
