Our client a highly respected and successful asset financier who are one of the UK’s fastest growing asset financiers are seeking to hire a number of additional Area Sales Managers to drive self sourced hard asset finance across the South of the UK.
Opportunities exist for strong new business developers located anywhere south of the M4 right across the country from Southend on Sea West and encompassing the whole of the South West peninsula and also South Wales.
They seek new business developers who have the willingness and ability to prospect a sales area for new business directly from customers acquiring hard assets or from dealers selling hard assets to their customers.
Virtually any hard asset can be financed but our client do not take residual value positions thus customers seeking Hire Purchase , Finance Lease or Refinance solutions are the focus not those that are seeking Operating Lease solutions.
Our clients pricing and credit policy are highly competitive as a consequence they are able to offer tier 1 rates to larger price sensitive corporates as readily as they can offer tier 3 pricing to a viable but weaker credit covenant customer.
Additionally whilst the bulk of their business is held own book they also have a panel of funders so are rarely unable to find a solution to a requirement.
In terms of service their reputation for speed of decisioning , credit acceptance , payout etc is extremely high , not unusually as short as 8 minutes from proposal to acceptance.
In return for your ability to personally prospect and win new business they provide a highly competitive remuneration package.
Base salary range is up to c£50,000 plus a cash car allowance and excellent benefits including a generous pension , but the real attraction is not the above but the following :
1 : Commission is paid monthly and on every transaction you close. There is no hurdle of income to cross before you are paid commission
2 : Commission and total earnings are totally uncapped
3 : For own book transactions funded by our clients access to highly competitive cost of funds due to their scale you receive up to 9% of the profit generated on the business you write , depending on the selling rate to your customers.
4 : For transactions that are deemed better funded via one of their funders you will receive 25% of the profit received by our client on these transactions.
The above pay plan enables our clients higher achievers to regularly earn > £250,000 a year.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking applications from motivated , hard working , driven , resilient , new business hunters with a successful background in hard asset finance sales who desire and need a high income.
Our client will also consider those with a successful background in hard asset sales ( plant , trucks , possibly machine tools ) if you have a network of customers that you can sell into and you have the ability to be cross trained in selling asset finance and ideally have some experience of using asset finance to sell hard assets to make your transition quicker and more effective.
Your location , as long as you are living on the sales area outlined is immaterial , it is your experience , your focus , your activity and your mindset that are of paramount importance.
Our client are not seeking applications from those of the following backgrounds :
- From account managers who are used to being introduced to deals by a parent bank and are used they believe to largely selling out at low margins.
- From those with backgrounds in sales aid leasing
- From those with backgrounds in soft assets
- From those with backgrounds in retail motor finance
- From broker managers
- From those whose experience is very largely that of doing business only via inherited vendors rather than direct
- From those are today running their own lease brokerages who want to return to an employed role with a salary , their view is that any self employed lease broker , if successful , ought to be out earning anyone in an employed role and thus from poor results having hired ex lease brokers in the past they will not do so again.
From anyone who would be too much out of their comfort zone in a role where you need to find all your own business.
In essence our clients seek the mindset and motivation of someone who has the skills and drive to be a self employed lease broker but would rather spend more of their time selling to customers than all the non sales aspects involved in running a brokerage.
You will in this role in effect be MD of your own area but with a salary , a great pay plan and fantastic back office support to help you succeed , all you need to do is get out and sell !
Over time these roles become a blend of new business and account management as you will retain every customer you win BUT for the first c2 years in role these positions need a genuine new business hunter mentality.
As highlighted those with this mentality who continue to hunt new business and not just farm the customers they have won can and do regularly earn over £250,000 a year.
This could be you in 3 years time and perhaps in as little as 2 years time if you are effective at winning not only business from direct customers but from dealers.
