Our client a specialist well established IT financier with a near unique proposition are hiring the newly created role of Channel Business Development Manager.

You will report to the Head of Sales whom we have known for many years and indeed placed in their career in the past.

Your role is one of identifying, targeting , negotiating , documenting , launching and then managing new name strategic partnership with IT vendor partners.

These partners will be VAR’s or systems integrators who are selling IT hardware , lap tops , desk tops , tablets etc to customers direct.

You will be expected to deliver first year volume of £6m.

We feel that this an achievable number given our clients highly competitive offering which includes

  • Own book RV’s investments in all leading IT hardware platforms
  • The ability to fund hardware , software , services , commissioning etc
  • The ability to syndicate debt across a plethora of funding partners enabling very high acceptance rates to be provided to partners sales staff
  • Undisclosed assignment of receivables documentation making for a simple customer experience
  • Portal based proposal submission of deals from partners to ease and speed processing of deals
  • Strong SLA’s to provide fast deal turnaround and payout of business.
  • The ability to funds deals right down to £25,000

 

Candidate Profile

 

To apply for this position you must have at least 5 years experience operating at C level or equivalent working with channel partners in the IT finance sector.

Our clients are seeking applicants who are based UK South and can work 2 days a week from their central London offices.

The strongest applicants will be those who can demonstrate a depth of experience of winning new channel relationships and also have some evidence to support your success.

Those with a record of inheriting IT relationships and growing finance volumes and finance penetration levels will be actively considered providing you have the aptitude and ability to go out and win new business.

If the above is you lets talk about what your strategy would be to win new business, how comfortable are you cold calling the Sales Director of a £200m a year IT reseller after networking into via LinkedIn or via your network to deliver your 30 second elevator pitch ? .

What is your experience of door opening ?

It’s a given that you will have very broad commercial skills and a deep understand of leasing at this level and of the most modern IT finance solutions whether that is DAAS ,  AAS , or subscription models etc plus of course decent experience of pricing , credit and deal structuring.

Beyond the above we are seeking applications from those who want to go on a journey with our client and want more than just a highly paid job.

We can see line of sight to this role developing ,  in time ,  into a people leader one where when you have won and built a programme to £10m a year and it needs account managers to support this I can see you being mandated to go out and hire these staff and then lead them if you want.

I can also see in time the scope for the successful Channel Business Development Manager to be the natural potential successor to the Head of Sales you report to.

In short , this is one of the best opportunities we have seen in a while for a self managing new business hunter to earn potentially > £170,000 a year and in an environment that is very much a self managing meritocracy where high performance is not only well rewarded but actively lauded.
